Don’t let my petite and innocent appearance fool you, because I’m one person you don’t want to cross. I’m Micah, the youngest member of Resurrection…If only they knew how young. My fake ID says I’m twenty-one.
And I will be…in four years.
What can I say? I blossomed early. Home sucked, so I left, determined to do something with my life.
Landing the gig as lead vocalist in the band was a dream come true. I’ve worked hard to make something of myself and nothing is going to ruin that for me.
Then He showed up.
He’s hot as hell and so into me. But he’s also twenty-five.
I don’t want to lie to him, but if the truth comes out I’ll lose everything, including him.
I was kindly gifted an arc by Indie Sage PR in exchange for an honest review.
This isn't the first of Missy's books I've read. I loved Out of Reach and I know as soon as I saw the cover and read the blurb that I would love Wicked Innocence and I did.
At the beginning of Wicked Innocence we meet Micah, a 21 year old waitress auditioning for the role as the lead singer of Ressurection managed by former rock god Saxton Waite. Or that's what they think. Micah is in fact 17 and living a lie. She ran away from home at 14 after her brother's tragic death at the hands of a gang.
Wicked Innocence follows Micah's time as Ressurection's lead singer and her developing relationship with Saxton, their manager. As the book progresses their relationship gets intense and they're both falling hard and fast for each other.
I really loved the characters in this book, both Sax and Micah had their issues and they saved each other from them. Sax saved Micah from her last and he from hers. Reading them together was amazing and I loved their relationship all the way through the book.
Of course, as it always does, the truth came out and I so was not expecting it to come out the way it did but once I read it I realised that was the best way it could have or the entire band could have been destroyed. I was hoping like hell that these two worked it out because they honestly needed to be together.
Oh and then there were the sex scenes. One word. Hot. Hot. So hot.
All in all, this was a great book and I really enjoyed reading it and I can't wait to see what Missy publishes next because I will definitely be reading it!
About Missy Johnson
Missy lives in a small town in Central Victoria with her husband, and her confused pets (a dog who think she’s a cat, a cat who thinks he’s a dog…you get the picture).
When she’s not writing, she can usually be found looking for something to read.
